Silence of the Stickergate Trio

For weeks now, Stickergate has plagued the media lime light. As you may recall some nearly 250 2" x 2" stickers stating "FT: Fire Trachta" the Nazareth Police Chief, have surfaced in the borough. On June 27th, three men were charged in what has been dubbed as "StickerGate: Nazareth's Crime of the Decade". Shackled and handcuffed, these men were paraded around in a "staged perp" walk issued by Police Chief Thomas Trachta himself. Since then, many people across the United States have raced to the rescue of these men, criticizing the local police department and expressing their outrage of the excessive use of power. Since this story broke weeks ago, we haven't heard much from the trio via social media or in the newspapers themselves. That is until recent. Since this story broke, one of the three "sticker bandits" has been busy with the media. Trevor Gehret, the dubbed "ring-leader" of the sticker trio has been busy publicly criticizing the police department.

At Monday's council meeting in Nazareth, Gehret spoke to the members of council for the first time since his arrest on June 27th. "Our Police Department needs to be investigated", Gehret claimed as he laid out a section of the Pennsylvania Crimes Code Section 6905 which prohibits anyone from hanging signs or any material onto a public utility pole with a metal object. He also called out current part-time police officer Eric Schwab for being at a party while on duty in a Nazareth uniform. "Maybe, if our officers spent more time patrolling the town instead of hanging out at other officers houses while there's a party in process we wouldn't have petty crime going on in Nazareth". Gehret attended the meeting with local LehighValleyRamblings blogger Bernie O'Hare who too was furious about the police department. O'Hare issued council an indictment against Chief Thomas Trachta and called for an investigation to be conducted.

As for the other two members of the StickerGate trio, they've been silent. In their latest public blurb, the search for defense attorneys was underway. Today we've learned that all three men have been picked up by well known Lehigh Valley attorneys and are remaining tight lipped about who they have to represent them. We do know that as of now, "The Stickergate Dream Team" is ready to go. You can follow the duo on this blog or via Twitter @StickerGate. We will keep you informed about the developments in this story as they unfold.
